The Varmint LRF series of thermal riflescopes from AGM utilize many of the features that shooters have come to know and love in the ever-popular Rattler product family, but with one big addition: a 600-meter integrated laser rangefinder. This feature helps alleviate a common issue many shooters find themselves experiencing when hunting with any sort of digital optic, and that is the lack of depth perception that is inherent in optics utilizing a digital screen. The Varmint LRF TS50-640 pairs that LRF functionality with a 12 micron 640x512 thermal detector, which works in conjunction with a high quality 1024x768 OLED display. The Varmint LRF is powered by a single, non-proprietary, 18650 rechargeable battery, which provides users with 4.5 hours of continuous use in the field.

The compact design of the Varmint LRF even allows some dual-use functionality as a handheld monocular as well, which helps in surveying your surroundings before the spotting and stalking has begun. This transition is made extremely easy because every Varmint LRF comes equipped with a high-quality American-made American Defense Manufacturing quick detach mount. Pairing all these physical aspects with built-in recording, Wi-Fi compatibility through the AGM Connect app, external power options through the mini USB port, multiple reticle options, multiple color palettes, and 16GB of internal storage capacity, make the Varmint LRF one of the most functionally diverse products in the AGM family. FIRMWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTION

Please read the instructions below before updating the firmware.

Check current firmware version of your device, for this go to your device’s main menu to option “Info” or “Version” and check what number you have. Compare the number with the latest version of the firmware on the AGM website.

Download the firmware update package to your PC and unzip it.

NOTE: Do not open the DAV or BIN file on your computer as it may corrupt the file.

Connect the thermal device to your PC with USB cable.
Turn on the thermal device.
Disable the Wi-Fi Hotspot function in the device menu if WiFi is enabled.
Open the detected disk (USB drive) in file manager program. Copy the unzipped .dav file and paste it to the root directory of the device.
Turn off the device.
Turn on the device. After a while, the firmware update process will start automatically. During the update, the screen will display the inscription "Upgrading ...". The update process will be completed when the inscription "Upgrading ..." goes out. Repeat steps 4-6 for each updating file.
Turn off the device and disconnect it from your PC.

WARNING:
If your device does not have a built-in rechargeable battery and is powered by replaceable Lithium batteries, remove the batteries from the battery compartment before connecting the device to your PC, or it may cause computer damage.

If you removed the batteries, please make sure the device is connected to the computer during the update process. Otherwise, the device will shut off and may cause unnecessary upgrade failure, firmware damage, etc.

To begin the procedure for updating the firmware of your equipment, you must confirm that you are familiar with and agree to the "AGM GLOBAL VISION" Export Policy («AGM GLOBAL VISION» Export Policy). By continuing the process of updating your device, you are confirming that you received this device legally and in compliance with all applicable US export laws and that you are not on the Banned Persons List and/or are not affiliated with any of the Banned Persons as defined by the US Government.
If these conditions are met, please check the box on the left and follow the instructions for updating the hardware firmware.

  Support 10 reticles.
  The small cross won’t overlay on the reticle when you choose the reticle type. It only appears when you adjust the XY value, to mark the reticle’s original position.
  When a 5-second power-off countdown appears, pressing any buttons can cancel the power off operation. Accidental touches that trigger power off process won’t be a problem.
  Add a quick start button for Varmint, so that users can remove the laser icon quickly to avoid the block with reticles.
  Support Auto FFC Prompt. Before the device performs auto FFC, a 5-second countdown will appear to notify users of the incoming frozen image.

I waited a long time to buy the scope. Once I saw range finder on the scope I had to pull the trigger on it. TS50-640 comes with 2.5 magnification and while I wish I could see more I marvel at how well I see what the scope is looking at. First living thing late in the evening looking into the woods was a hare 75 yards away. It was pitch black and here it was. Instructions I believe have room for improvements but device itself is gold. Also, mine did not lose zero. Great mount. I put my thermal on the rifle, zeroed, took it off and put it back on. no poi shift. life is good. One thing would be nice to add. Ability to use it on multiple rifles and ability to leave notes which rifle uses which X & Y coordinates. Even if you had to use computer to add the data. I know there are 4 usable reticles and 5th one I have no clue what it's doing there. Overall very happy with the purchase. Robust, functional thermal. I am in 21st century now

I recently received a varmit 640x512 lrf . I have only written one review in my life and it was also an AGM product. I have to be totally impressed to do so. I own a company called Southern shooting center. I shoot and build guns for members for the last 23 years. With this new varmit 640 I am totally blown away. It s much more than I ever expected. The clarity, the ease of operation, the accuracy is beyond what I have ever experienced. I have shot at least 6 other manufacturers and wasn’t impressed. What’s even better this company is the whole package. Their technology surpasses all the ones I’ve tried before. Their products,their development team, and to top that off they have a man name Mr. Todd who’s been a awesome person to work with. He is definitely a credit to his company. Thanks go out to Mr. Todd. I highly recommend AGM for your thermal applications.
